Nevada — Bright sun already reflects off pavement and rooftops, and the dry desert air is warming quickly as Las Vegas shifts into a hotter, breezier pattern through the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures climb from the mid-80s today to near 90 degrees by Saturday and Sunday across Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Summerlin, and Paradise.

This is part of a broader system bringing cooler, unsettled weather east of the Rockies, while the Southwest builds early-season heat under stable high pressure.

By Sunday afternoon between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m., winds increase across the Las Vegas Valley, with gusts topping 25 to 30 mph along open stretches of I-15 and U.S. 95. Drivers may encounter sudden crosswinds, especially near desert corridors and exposed overpasses.

Blowing dust could briefly reduce visibility in low-lying areas south of the Strip and near construction zones, creating quick-changing travel conditions. Light debris may also be pushed into roadways.

Through early next week, temperatures ease slightly back toward 80 degrees, but dry air and sunshine continue to dominate. Fire risk remains elevated as vegetation dries quickly under persistent warmth and wind.

Residents should secure loose outdoor items ahead of Sunday’s wind and use caution when driving high-profile vehicles. Hydration becomes increasingly important as temperatures approach early-summer levels.

Conditions stay quiet through Saturday, but winds and heat peak Sunday afternoon, bringing the most noticeable impacts across the Las Vegas area.
