Hastings, NE – Residents of Hastings and surrounding areas can expect a dry weekend, but weather changes are ahead by midweek. Temperatures will remain mild through Sunday before a strong cold front arrives, bringing freezing temperatures and possible snow.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday’s high will reach near 55 degrees with mostly sunny skies and light winds. Sunday will be partly cloudy, with highs near 53 degrees, but gusty northwest winds may reach 20 mph in the afternoon. This calm weather will shift dramatically by midweek as a cold front moves through the region.

Monday marks the beginning of the cooldown, with highs peaking near 39 degrees and clear skies in the evening, dropping temperatures into the teens overnight. By Tuesday, highs will remain in the mid-40s before snow chances increase on Wednesday, especially along major routes like Highway 281. Precipitation remains low at 20%, but icy conditions are possible with highs struggling to reach 41 degrees.

Drivers and travelers are urged to monitor road conditions and prepare for possible delays on Wednesday, especially as Thanksgiving approaches. Keep an eye on local forecasts to adjust plans for holiday travel.

The extended forecast predicts a mix of sun and clouds through Thanksgiving, with temperatures dipping into the low teens overnight. While the week begins calm, the midweek cold front could impact travel across Nebraska, making it crucial to stay informed.
