NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Metro Nashville Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the driver of a vehicle involved in an alleged intentional hit-and-run that seriously injured a pedestrian.
According to the Metro Nashville Police Department, detectives are investigating a collision that occurred at 95 Wallace Road, where Jesus Peraida-Gutierrez, 34, was standing on the sidewalk at the time of the incident.
The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a small, light-colored SUV was traveling westbound on Wallace Road when the vehicle allegedly left the roadway, drove over the curb, and onto the sidewalk before striking Peraida-Gutierrez.
Police said investigators believe the driver appeared to intentionally strike the pedestrian before leaving the scene.
Peraida-Gutierrez was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Detectives continue working to identify both the vehicle and its driver. No additional description of the SUV or the suspect has been released.
The Metro Nashville Police Department is urging anyone with information about the hit-and-run or the vehicle involved to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward if their information leads to an arrest.
The investigation remains active, and police have not released a possible motive or announced any arrests.
