Chambersburg, PA – A 21-year-old motorcyclist died Friday afternoon after a high-speed crash in Chambersburg led to a multi-vehicle collision on Wayne Avenue.
Jamaree Moore, of Chambersburg, was traveling northbound on his motorcycle in the right curb lane of Wayne Avenue when he rear-ended a vehicle driven by Erin Dennis, 46, of Allentown. The impact of the collision caused Dennis’ vehicle to veer into the oncoming traffic lane, where it struck a car driven by Jassiel Garcia-Cortez, 32, of Chambersburg, at the intersection of South 2nd Street.
Authorities reported that Moore had been traveling at a high rate of speed when the crash occurred. Despite wearing a helmet, Moore sustained fatal injuries in the crash.
According to the Franklin County Coroner’s Office, Moore was pronounced dead at the scene. Dennis and Garcia-Cortez were both treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
The crash, which happened in a busy section of Wayne Avenue, led to a temporary closure of the road as police conducted their investigation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
