Blackfoot, ID – Paul R. Dreher, a 24-year-old resident of Blackfoot, has died following a fatal accident involving a late-model Jeep on Friday morning. The incident took place on 62 E, 200 N (Weeding Ln) shortly after 11 a.m., during grain harvest operations in the area.
According to the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office, Dreher was assisting with the harvest when he was struck by a Jeep driven by Julie Marlow, also from Blackfoot. Marlow was reportedly traveling westbound when she encountered visibility issues due to dust and debris from the nearby harvest, leading to the tragic collision.
Dreher sustained severe, life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center by Air Idaho Rescue. Despite efforts by medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries a few hours later. Marlow, who was transported by ambulance to Bingham Memorial Hospital, sustained minor injuries.
Authorities, including Idaho State Police, were among the first responders on the scene and are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. Preliminary findings do not indicate any conclusive evidence of negligence. The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine the full details of the incident.
