Montgomery County, TX – A 17-year-old has been charged with murder following the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old earlier this month in Conroe, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the 16800 block of Northern Flicker Trail at approximately 5:13 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2026, after receiving two 911 calls reporting that a 16-year-old male had been found suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was identified as Alexander Guevara, 16. Authorities said the investigation determined the shooting was a homicide.
On Friday, July 10, 2026, detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, in consultation with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, charged Messiah Archuleta, 17, with murder in connection with Guevara’s death.
Officials have not released additional details regarding the circumstances of the shooting or a possible motive.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains active and ongoing. Authorities also stated there is no current threat to the public.

As with all criminal cases, the charge is an allegation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
