Missouri starts the day with bright sun, moving air, and a sharp edge to the breeze. Flags ripple hard, and dry leaves scrape across parking lots as conditions shift quickly.

Across southwest Missouri and Springfield, temperatures hover in the mid-40s early this morning. Northwest winds strengthen through late morning and afternoon, with gusts approaching 30 mph. The air feels cooler than the numbers suggest, especially in open areas and on elevated roadways.

Travel impacts remain limited, but drivers should stay alert. Gusty crosswinds may affect high-profile vehicles along US-60 and I-44, particularly east-west stretches. Secure loose outdoor items before midday as winds peak.

Sunshine dominates today, helping temperatures climb into the upper 50s despite the wind. Conditions improve steadily late afternoon as gusts ease and the air calms.

Tonight turns quiet and cooler. Skies stay mostly clear, and lows dip to around 25 degrees. Any moisture left on pavement may refreeze briefly by early morning.

Saturday stays dry and calmer. Highs reach near 50 degrees, making it a comfortable winter day with lighter winds. Outdoor plans look favorable with layered clothing.

Sunday delivers the headline change. Temperatures surge into the mid to upper 60s, feeling more like early spring than February. Snow remnants disappear fast, and shaded areas finally thaw.

Sunday night remains mild, with lows near 38 degrees, limiting refreeze concerns. Monday continues the warm trend, climbing to around 71 degrees under sunny skies.

By midweek, clouds return with rain chances around 30 to 40 percent, signaling a pattern transition rather than a return to winter weather.

Looking six to ten days out, above-normal temperatures remain favored across much of the Midwest. Winter still lingers, but spring is clearly testing the door.
