Warrick County, IN – A Missouri man faces charges after a shooting at a gas station in Lynnville early Monday morning.
Authorities identified the suspect as Eli B. Gunden, 28, of Missouri. Investigators say he approached a woman parked outside Casey’s gas station on IN-68 around midnight. Gunden allegedly made an unsolicited remark and, when ignored, fired two shots into the woman’s vehicle. She was not injured, according to police.
Gunden fled the scene in a Toyota SUV. The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office located his vehicle on I-64 shortly afterward. Officers pursued him south on US 231 and onto State Road 62 before he pulled over and refused to exit.
A two-hour standoff followed, with assistance from multiple agencies, including the Indiana State Police and Spencer County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities report Gunden eventually surrendered without further incident.
Officers transported Gunden to the Spencer County Jail, where he remains held without bond. He faces multiple felony charges as the investigation continues.
Investigating officers include Indiana State Police Detective Sergeant Brock Werne and several law enforcement agencies across southern Indiana.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
