Joplin, MO — A Joplin man was arrested after eight puppies were found dead in a plastic tote. The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Joplin Humane Society on Monday morning after a call from concerned citizens. The puppies were found deceased, and the sheriff’s office began an investigation.
According to Sheriff Randee Kaiser, the public helped identify the suspect, Seth Vaile, 30, of Joplin. Surveillance footage and public tips played a key role in the arrest. Vaile now faces eight counts of animal abuse and had outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest.
Another Joplin man, Samuel Allen, 36, was arrested on outstanding warrants and is considered a person of interest in the case.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities say additional charges could follow. The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office continues to seek any further information about this case. The charges against Vaile are currently under review by the prosecuting attorney’s office.
