Reno, NV – The Davis Fire, which began on Saturday, has grown to 5,000 acres with no containment reported as of Monday. Fourteen structures are affected, with damage assessments underway. Firefighting efforts continue to focus on protecting life, property, and infrastructure.

According to the Southwest Area Incident Management Team 1, which took over management at 6 p.m. Monday, crews are prioritizing fire lines and hotspot control along the Mt. Rose Highway. A red flag warning is in effect for Tuesday, with high winds expected. Evacuations remain in place for affected communities.
