Pleasant Prairie, WI – Authorities are actively searching for a missing scuba diver in Lake Michigan after a distress call was received Tuesday morning. The diver disappeared while exploring an old shipwreck approximately six miles off the coast of Pleasant Prairie.
The United States Coast Guard received the alert around 11:30 a.m. from a vessel on Lake Michigan. According to officials, the diver had been exploring a site more than 100 feet deep when they failed to resurface.
Multiple agencies, including the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department, Pleasant Prairie Police and Fire Departments, and the Coast Guard, are coordinating recovery efforts. Search teams are actively working in the area to locate the missing diver.
The Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department stated that updates would be provided on their Facebook page as the recovery continues. At this time, no further details have been released regarding the diver’s identity or condition. The search remains ongoing.
