Holland, MI – A Michigan mother and her three children have gone missing after reportedly leaving the state earlier this week, prompting a multi-agency investigation involving law enforcement in both Michigan and Indiana.

According to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, 50-year-old Michelle Lynn Olszewski allegedly removed her children—ages 14, 10 and 8—from school on Tuesday, April 30, and departed Michigan. Authorities say her rental car and personal belongings were later discovered at a hotel in Mishawaka, Indiana.

Officials believe Olszewski and her children may have left the hotel on Wednesday, May 1, and could be traveling with the family dog. Their current whereabouts and mode of transportation are unknown.

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Mishawaka Police Department as the investigation continues. Law enforcement noted there is evidence suggesting Olszewski may be experiencing mental instability. Authorities also cited a history of mental health issues in the case.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Michelle Lynn Olszewski and her children is urged to contact Silent Observer at 1-877-88-SILENT (745368) or the Ottawa County Central Dispatch at 1-800-249-0911.

Officials are asking the public to share the information widely in an effort to locate the family.
