Michigan SWAT Sniper Ends Standoff After Gunman Shoots at Officers

Farmington Hills, MI – A Michigan man opened fire on police Thursday during a domestic violence standoff while two children were inside the home. The incident took place near Middlebelt and 12 Mile roads after a female victim fled the scene.

According to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect barricaded himself with two children upstairs. Officers retreated after the man fired a rifle. The children managed to escape as the suspect continued to shoot, hitting police vehicles and neighboring homes.

A SWAT sniper shot the suspect, ending the standoff. The man was transported to a hospital for treatment. No officers or civilians were injured during the incident, and Macomb County’s Special Investigation Unit is reviewing the officer-involved shooting.
