Detroit, Michigan – Southeast Michigan will see a warm-up midweek before a stronger round of rain moves in Friday, raising concerns for slick roads and slower commutes across the region.
According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, scattered showers are possible Wednesday and Thursday with a 20–30% chance, but Friday brings a more widespread system with rain chances as high as 70%. Highs will climb into the upper 70s by Thursday before falling back into the 60s with the incoming rain.
Drivers in Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Flint should prepare for wet roads Friday morning and afternoon. Commuters are urged to allow extra travel time and keep headlights on during rainfall. Localized ponding is possible in low-lying areas, especially where drainage is poor.
Conditions will begin to improve by Saturday, with decreasing clouds and highs in the low 60s. This stretch of spring weather follows a cooler start to the week, with lows dipping into the 40s each night.
More updates are expected later in the week as confidence grows around Friday’s rain totals. Rain gear and caution are advised for Friday plans.
