Miami, FL – A Miami-based company has recalled thousands of baby food units sold at Target after elevated levels of lead were found in the product, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

According to FDA data, FRUSELVA USA voluntarily initiated the recall on March 12, 2025, pulling 25,600 units of “Good & Gather baby Pea, Zucchini, Kale & Thyme Vegetable Puree” from nationwide shelves. The product, packaged in 4 oz. containers and intended for infants 6 months and older, was manufactured in Colombia and distributed by Target Corporation, headquartered in Minneapolis, MN.

The affected items include Lot Number 4169 (Best by Dec. 9, 2025) and Lot Number 4167 (Best by Dec. 7, 2025). The FDA classified the recall as Class II, indicating that use of the product may cause temporary or medically reversible health problems.

No illnesses have been reported, but parents and caregivers are urged to check packaging and stop using the affected lots immediately. While no formal press release was issued, consumers may return the product to Target for a refund.

This recall underscores ongoing concerns about lead in infant foods and highlights the importance of product screening at the distribution level.
