Rising Sun, IN – A 55-year-old Indianapolis woman was killed early Thursday in a single-vehicle crash on State Road 56 north of Rising Sun.
According to the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 4:30 a.m. to a report of a vehicle that had left the roadway near 7993 SR 56. Investigators allege Sherry Pruitt was driving south toward Rising Sun when her vehicle ran off the road. She was pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash.
Pruitt was the sole occupant in the vehicle. The Ohio County Coroner’s Office is assisting in the ongoing investigation. Family members have been notified.
