JOLIET, Ill. – Motorists in Joliet should expect delays and plan alternate routes as construction work continues on eastbound I-80.
The Illinois Department of Transportation announced lane closures will take place between Wheeler Ave and Gardner St from 10 p.m. on Friday, April 14, until 5 a.m. on Monday, April 17.
In addition, the ramp from Chicago St to eastbound I-80 will be closed during this time. The closures are necessary to allow for construction crews to perform maintenance work on the roadway.
Drivers are advised to seek alternate routes, allow for extra travel time, and exercise caution when traveling through the work zone.
