JOLIET, Ill. – A 20-year-old man was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident late Friday night.

According to Joliet police, it happened at 11:11 p.m. when officers responded to the area of Northeast Frontage Road and Pandola Avenue for a traffic crash with injuries involving a motorcycle.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the Suzuki motorcycle was heading northbound on Northeast Frontage Road when it struck a Ford Edge turning onto eastbound Pandola Avenue from southbound Northeast Frontage Road.

The motorcyclist, identified Saturday afternoon by Will County Coroner Laurie Summers as Tyler Gallo of Willow Springs, was thrown from the vehicle.  Gallo was later pronounced dead at Ascension St Joseph Medical Center. An autopsy Saturday confirmed Gallo died due to multiple blunt force injuries sustained during the wreck.

A GoFundMe Campaign has since been started by Grace Antoniazzi, Gallo’s fiancée, for his funeral.

Two female passengers of the Ford Edge were also injured in the accident, and one of them sustained life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford Edge and another male passenger were uninjured.

The Joliet Police Department is investigating the incident. The final cause of death will be determined at a later date pending police, autopsy and toxicological reports.
