Chicago, IL – Dangerous conditions will continue today at the lakefront as large waves are expected, with hazardous winds affecting the area. The National Weather Service (NWS) advises caution near Lake Michigan due to the risk of strong waves and unpredictable waters. While lakefront conditions remain treacherous, Chicago will see beautiful weather over the next several days.

According to the NWS, cooler temperatures today will give way to a warming trend by Monday. Today’s high is expected to reach between 62-67°F with lake effect showers possible in Northwest Indiana. Overnight lows will dip to a brisk 38-50°F, making for chilly evenings.

Sunday will bring sunny skies with highs in the range of 70-74°F. By Monday, temperatures will rise further, reaching between 79-83°F, offering a brief warm-up. Tuesday and Wednesday will continue the warming trend, with highs pushing into the upper 80s. Wednesday could see temperatures reaching up to 90°F, especially away from the lake, where cooler conditions may prevail.

Stay updated with the latest weather warnings, especially if you’re near the lakefront, as conditions can shift quickly. Warmer temperatures should return for much of the region by midweek.
