Wichita, KS — A week of unseasonably warm weather will be paired with scattered thunderstorms across Central, South-Central, and Southeast Kansas, with storm chances persisting nightly through Saturday.

According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, isolated thunderstorms are expected to begin Wednesday night with a 20–30% chance and will continue through late Saturday, when storm probabilities could reach up to 50% in parts of Southeast Kansas. High temperatures throughout the period will remain above average, ranging from the low 70s to mid-80s.

The greatest threat of thunderstorms is expected late Saturday, primarily impacting Southeast Kansas, while earlier rounds on Thursday are expected to concentrate in the eastern portion of the state. Most storms are expected to be isolated but may bring occasional lightning and brief downpours.

Residents are advised to monitor local alerts, especially during evening hours. While no severe weather is currently forecast, isolated storms may briefly impact outdoor activities and travel. Drivers should use caution on wet roads and remain weather-aware throughout the week.
