Kankakee, IL – Two masked suspects attempted to break into the Aroma Park American Legion early Sunday morning, according to the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office. The break-in occurred around 4:15 a.m. when the pair, wearing gloves, entered through a broken window.
Once inside, the suspects unsuccessfully tried to force their way into an ATM and a gaming machine using a pry bar. Despite their efforts, they were unable to access the machines and fled the scene.
According to the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Office, investigators are actively seeking information from the public. Detective D. Brown is the point of contact for tips related to the case, and CrimeStoppers is also accepting anonymous leads at 815.93.CRIME. A cash reward is being offered for information that leads to arrests.
Authorities are reviewing surveillance footage as part of their investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward, as community tips could help bring the suspects to justice.
