Kankakee, IL – Kankakee police responded to Bishop McNamara High School on Friday night after a student was reported carrying a BB gun. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m., when authorities were called to the school.
The student was found with the BB gun in his crossbody bag. According to the police, the boy turned over the airsoft gun without incident and explained that he had forgotten it was in his bag. The weapon posed no immediate threat, and there were no reported injuries or disruptions at the school.
School officials reportedly decided to handle the situation internally. The boy was released to his mother following the police response.
