Bourbonnais, IL – A pop-up food pantry event is set for Thursday in Bourbonnais, with organizers releasing key details to help manage traffic flow and ensure a smooth experience for attendees.
According to the Village of Bourbonnais, the mobile pantry will operate with a structured vehicle lineup and designated route near Main Street NW and surrounding roads in Kankakee County, just outside the Kankakee metro area. Attendees are asked not to arrive more than 30 minutes early and to avoid lining up before 10:30 a.m.
Drivers should enter via Illinois Route 102 (Main Street NW), turn onto Stratford Drive East, continue to Briarcliff Lane, and then turn right onto Plum Creek Drive. Vehicles will be staged along Plum Creek Drive while awaiting entry to the distribution site on Briarwood Lane.
Organizers emphasize that vehicles should not block residential or commercial driveways while waiting, including access points near nearby businesses.
A $5 donation is being requested from attendees to support the mobile pantry program, though officials note the event is intended to assist residents in need of food resources.
The pop-up pantry is part of ongoing efforts to provide accessible food assistance across the region, with safety and traffic management remaining a top priority for local officials and volunteers.
Residents with questions are encouraged to contact organizers through The Original Secret Pantry group.
