Fort Wayne, IN – Residents in Indiana should brace for potentially severe weather as thunderstorms are forecasted to continue through Friday.

According to the US National Weather Service Northern Indiana, isolated severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts are expected before midnight, particularly in east-central Indiana and west-central Ohio. The chance of showers and thunderstorms will increase again Friday afternoon. The severe weather potential on Friday is anticipated to remain low, with rain likely to end early Saturday.

The weather outlook for the weekend shows improving conditions. Saturday morning may still see some rain, mainly east of I-69, but the afternoon is expected to be dry with temperatures ranging from 80-87°F. By Sunday, the forecast predicts mostly sunny skies and temperatures between 83-88°F, providing a much-needed break from the storms.

Next week’s forecast indicates a mix of weather conditions. Monday and Tuesday could see scattered showers with temperatures in the mid-60s to upper 70s. By midweek, the weather is expected to clear up, with sunny skies and temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s. Another chance of showers returns on Thursday, followed by a sunny Friday.
