Phoenix, AZ – An excessive heat warning is in effect from Saturday to Monday for southeastern California and the lower desert and foothill communities of southcentral and southwest Arizona. High temperatures are expected to range between 105°F and 118°F. Residents are urged to limit outdoor activities from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and stay hydrated.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Phoenix, the extreme heat poses a high risk of heat-related illnesses. Precautions include staying indoors during peak heat hours, drinking plenty of water, and wearing sunscreen and lightweight clothing.

In addition to the heat, isolated to scattered showers and storms are forecasted for tonight in the higher terrains of eastern and southeastern Arizona. The main concerns are gusty outflow winds of 20-35 mph and localized heavy downpours. Additional showers and isolated storms are possible overnight and into Friday morning.
