Porter County, IN – Indiana State Police seized millions of dollars worth of cocaine during a traffic stop on I-94 in Porter County. The bust took place Monday around 9:30 a.m. when troopers pulled over a semi-truck at the I-94 eastbound scales for a motor carrier violation. The truck, driven by Canadian citizen Naseeb Chisty, 49, was heading east when stopped near State Road 49.
A police K9 unit sniffed the truck’s trailer and alerted officers to the presence of drugs. Upon searching the vehicle, authorities found 123.9 kilos of cocaine, with an estimated street value in the millions. The cocaine was concealed in boxes inside the trailer.
Chisty, a Canadian national, was arrested on the scene and taken to the Porter County Jail. He faces charges including Level 2 felony dealing cocaine and Level 3 felony possession of cocaine. Indiana State Police continue to investigate the case, with no bond set for the driver.
