Springfield, IL — The Illinois Veterans’ Homes in Anna and Manteno are reporting increased COVID-19 cases among residents and staff. The majority of these cases involve mild symptoms. The new numbers, reported as of Sunday, include 17 residents and seven staff in Anna, while Manteno has 15 residents and nine staff affected.
According to the Illinois Department of Veterans’ Affairs (IDVA), the facilities are following strict guidelines from the CDC and Illinois Department of Public Health. Safety measures include social distancing, masking in care areas, and enhanced cleaning protocols. Testing has also been increased to monitor the outbreak closely.
