LaSalle County, IL – Starved Rock State Park is set to receive over $33.8 million for major improvements, including trail upgrades, facility replacements, and a new wastewater system.
According to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), the funding is part of the Rebuild Illinois capital plan and aims to enhance visitor experience while protecting the park’s natural resources. The upgrades will address deteriorated infrastructure and improve accessibility for the park’s millions of annual visitors.
State officials emphasize that these investments will support both conservation efforts and local economic growth.
