Monroe, MI – Authorities are investigating after a man was found dead along South Telegraph Road in Bedford Township early Thursday morning.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 1:28 a.m. Thursday, July 23, after receiving a report of a man passed out on the side of South Telegraph Road, about a quarter-mile north of Crab Road.
When deputies arrived, they located a deceased man on the shoulder of the northbound lane, officials said.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Services Division and Detective Bureau responded to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death. Authorities said the investigation remains active, and additional details will be released as they become available.
Investigators have not yet identified the victim publicly, and the cause and manner of death have not been announced.
The Bedford Township Fire Department and Monroe Community Ambulance assisted at the scene.
