East-central communities such as Champaign, Danville, and Paris will see similar sunshine with highs between 83 and 85 degrees, providing favorable travel conditions along Interstates 55, 57, 70, 72, and 74.
Rain and scattered thunderstorms will move from west to east on Friday. High temperatures will cool to 73 to 80 degrees across central Illinois and 79 to 85 degrees farther east. While severe weather is not expected, periods of moderate to heavy rainfall may produce localized flooding in low-lying and poor-drainage areas.
The unsettled pattern continues Saturday with widespread rain chances. Highs will range from 76 to 78 degrees across west-central Illinois and 75 to 79 degrees across eastern sections of the state. Residents should remain alert for ponding on roads and slower travel during heavier showers.
Conditions improve Sunday as skies become partly sunny and temperatures recover to 80 to 82 degrees, followed by mostly sunny weather Monday with highs of 82 to 84 degrees.
