Illinois Men held on $2 Million Bond in Connection with Aurora Murder Case

AURORA, IL – Three Illinois men have been apprehended and are being held on a $2 million bond each, following their connection to a chilling murder case that unfolded in Aurora this past May. 

The trio’s arrest follows an extensive investigation into a fatal shooting incident that claimed the life of a man on the city’s West Side.

According to Aurora Police the suspects have been identified as Kevan Spatz, 36 of Chicago; Joshua Rodriguez, 31 of Chicago; and William Rodriguez, 18 of Melrose Park. Each of them is now facing charges of First-Degree Murder in connection with the case.

The victim, Isaiah Ayala, 36, was found wounded from gunshots on Monday, May 8th, 2023, around 12:16 AM near the intersection of Illinois Ave. and Candleberry Ln. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Ayala succumbed to his injuries, leading to a full-fledged investigation by the Aurora Police Department.

After meticulous efforts spanning over three months, Aurora Police Detectives identified Spatz and the Rodriguez brothers as individuals linked to the crime. On August 22nd, 2023, all three suspects were apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force. They were subsequently transported to the Aurora Police Department and are currently held on a bond of $2 million each. The next court date for each is scheduled for September 1st.
