MINOOKA, IL – The untimely death of Dr. Lucien Ngalamou Pideu, esteemed professor at Lewis University, has shaken students and faculty across the state.

After a fatal car accident on August 19th, a heartfelt GoFundMe campaign, led by his son Simeon Ngalamou, seeks to raise funds for the funeral. The campaign also supports legal tasks tied to his estate and memorial services in Illinois and his ancestral home in Bafang, Cameroon.

“Our family wishes to honor his final journey by holding a service in Illinois and then transporting him to his ancestral home in Bafang, Cameroon, where he will be laid to rest beside his late parents,” his son wrote in the fundraising effort launched Thursday. “As he was a pillar in many lives, managing his estate is a formidable task. Part of the funds will also be used to cover legal expenses, such as probate lawyers, essential in gathering critical information about our father that we currently lack access to.”

Dr. Ngalamou’s impact on education resonates globally. As the September 16th service nears, the campaign stands as a tribute to his legacy and an opportunity for the community to rally behind his family.
