Illinois Man Identified in Lake County, IN Residential Pond Drowning

Dyer, IN – A 46-year-old Lansing, Illinois, man drowned last Wednesday evening in a residential pond in Dyer, Indiana.

According to the Lake County Coroner’s Office, Blessed S. Asukwo was identified by family members on Monday. The incident occurred near 873 Flagstone Drive, and the coroner pronounced him deceased at 11:15 a.m. Thursday following an investigation. A forensic autopsy conducted Friday revealed the cause of death was drowning, with toxicology results pending.

Authorities, including Dyer Police, the Crown Point Dive Team, and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, responded to the scene. The manner of death has been ruled an accident.
