Illinois Man Arrested on I-94 in Michigan for Drug Trafficking After Police Pursuit

Marengo Township, MI – A 25-year-old Illinois man was arrested late Saturday after a police pursuit on I-94 revealed suspected narcotics.

The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about an erratic driver near Partello Road in Marengo Township around 11:35 p.m. Deputies located the vehicle, witnessing numerous traffic violations before attempting a stop. The driver ignored the emergency lights and sirens but pulled over shortly after.

A K9 unit alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, deputies found multiple bags of suspected heroin and fentanyl, packaged for individual sales.

The Illinois man was arrested on charges of possession of narcotics with intent to distribute and failing to stop for police. He was transported to the Calhoun County Jail pending further investigation.
