Joliet, IL – A Joliet man faces felony charges after allegedly stealing $45,000 worth of Christmas decorations earlier this month.
Police arrested Victor Sessoms, 52, on November 25 in the 3900 block of Cedar Creek Drive. Officers took Sessoms into custody without incident and later released him on a Notice to Appear.
Detectives identified Sessoms as the suspect in the theft of three 12-foot Christmas reindeer stolen from the loading dock at Duly Health & Care Field on November 11 and 12. Police say Sessoms admitted to scrapping the decorations for cash. An arrest warrant for felony theft was issued on November 22.
The Joliet Police Department stated that Sessoms was processed after his arrest and is now awaiting court proceedings.
Investigators previously described the suspect as a white male driving two different pickup trucks during the thefts. Sessoms’ alleged actions drew attention due to the high value of the stolen décor and its seasonal significance.
Police continue investigating the incident.
