Boise, Idaho – Blistering heat will grip much of southern Idaho and eastern Oregon this weekend, with Boise and Ontario expected to push into the upper 90s and potentially tie or break temperature records on both Saturday and Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service in Boise, triple-digit heat is forecast for Ontario at 99°F on both June 8 and 9, matching record highs set in 2016 and 2015. Boise could hit 92°F Saturday and soar to 96°F Sunday, just two degrees shy of the city’s all-time record of 99°F for June 9. Jerome and Burns are also tracking toward potential records, with highs reaching into the low to mid-90s.

The prolonged heat will stress outdoor workers, strain cooling systems, and increase fire danger. Officials urge residents to avoid outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated, and check on vulnerable neighbors or pets. Heat advisories may be issued if conditions worsen.
