Grand Rapids, MI – A cool and breezy stretch will continue across west Michigan through midweek before a dramatic warmup pushes temperatures into the 80s by the weekend and early next week.

According to the National Weather Service, Grand Rapids will remain mostly cloudy Wednesday with highs only reaching the mid-50s. Northwest winds could gust as high as 33 mph during the afternoon, making conditions feel even cooler.

Skies begin clearing Wednesday night as temperatures dip into the lower 40s. Sunshine returns Thursday with highs climbing near 68 degrees, followed by partly sunny skies Friday with temperatures rising into the lower 70s.

The warming trend strengthens over the weekend as highs surge into the low 80s Saturday under mostly sunny skies. A slight chance of showers develops Saturday night into Sunday, but warm conditions are expected to continue.

Forecasters say temperatures could climb into the upper 80s by Monday across much of west Michigan before more widespread showers and thunderstorms move back into the region early next week.

Drivers and outdoor event planners should prepare for changing conditions late Sunday into Monday as rain chances increase.
