Governor Pritzker Spearheads Efforts to Attract British Companies to Illinois

CHICAGO, IL – Gov. Pritzker will lead a trade mission to the United Kingdom, starting July 16. The trip will begin with the Governor attending the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where he will discuss Illinois’ commitment to electric vehicle manufacturing with industry leaders. 

Following the festival, business and education leaders from Illinois will meet their counterparts in London to explore opportunities for economic cooperation. The mission will focus on manufacturing, clean energy, technology, quantum advancements, and higher education collaboration. 

Several state leaders are included on the trip, including University of Illinois, President Tim Killeen, Nicor Gas, President and CEO Wendell Dallas, and, Illinois Realtors Association President Michael Gobber.

Illinois and the United Kingdom have a longstanding economic relationship, with $5 billion in bilateral trade in 2022. The mission aims to further strengthen these ties and attract British companies to Illinois.
