Peachtree City, GA – Strong storms will move through Georgia tonight, bringing damaging winds and a slight risk of tornadoes.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Peachtree City, storms will develop from 10 p.m. Tuesday to 10 a.m. Wednesday. The primary concern is wind gusts up to 60 mph. However, brief tornadoes cannot be ruled out.

The NWS has placed parts of Georgia under a “Slight Risk” (Level 2 of 5) for severe weather. Areas in the storm path may experience heavy rain, lightning, and strong winds. The greatest risk extends from late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning.

Residents should secure outdoor objects and monitor local weather alerts. The storm could impact travel, especially during the Wednesday morning commute.

The NWS advises people to stay informed and have multiple ways to receive warnings. If a tornado warning is issued, seek shelter immediately.
