Fort Wayne, Indiana – Smoke from Canadian wildfires continues to blanket Fort Wayne, prompting an Air Quality Alert that will stay in effect through Tuesday for all of northern Indiana. Drivers and outdoor workers may notice hazy skies and reduced visibility, while those with breathing difficulties should take extra precautions.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory is expected to last until Tuesday evening, with Michigan and much of northern Indiana under the warning. Temperatures will remain comfortable for early August, with highs in the low to mid 80s and a slight chance for rain or storms late Tuesday into Wednesday. Humidity will gradually build, and residents should expect a noticeable increase by Wednesday, making conditions feel muggy.

Roads and neighborhoods across Allen County, especially in and around Fort Wayne, could see air quality levels dip to unhealthy levels for sensitive groups. Limit outdoor activity, close windows, and consider running air purifiers until the haze clears. While dry weather prevails through much of the week, the return of hot, sticky air by midweek means energy use may climb—check on vulnerable neighbors and stay hydrated.

The Air Quality Alert is set to expire Tuesday night, but muggy summer weather is forecast to linger, with additional heat and humidity building through the weekend. More advisories may be issued if smoke drifts back into the region.

Five Day Forecast for Fort Wayne, Indiana:
Tonight: Hazy, lows 59–62°F
Tuesday: Hazy, highs 82–85°F, lows 60–63°F
Wednesday: Humid, highs 82–85°F, lows 60–64°F
Thursday: Humid, highs 83–86°F, lows 65–67°F
