Florida’s Treasure Coast Braces for Afternoon Storms and Flooding Today – Friday Weather Update

Melbourne, FL – Coastal communities along Florida’s Treasure Coast are set to experience scattered showers and storms today, with conditions expected to worsen around high tide. Residents are warned of gusty winds reaching 45 mph, lightning strikes, and localized flooding. The National Weather Service has issued a coastal flood advisory for Brevard, Volusia, and Indian River counties, emphasizing risk along low-lying areas and docks.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service in Melbourne, minor coastal flooding is possible during high tide. The advisory will remain in effect through Sunday. In addition, the forecast for today predicts highs near 90 degrees, with storms expected to continue into Saturday. Residents should avoid driving through floodwaters and be cautious of dangerous rip currents.

Looking ahead to the weekend, the forecast shows a 30% chance of storms Saturday with temperatures around 86°F. Sunday may bring a break in the weather with clearer skies and highs in the upper 80s.
