Johnsonville, SC – A Johnsonville man is facing multiple felony drug and weapons charges after a SWAT-assisted search warrant led to the seizure of fentanyl, crack cocaine, and other suspected narcotics Tuesday morning.
According to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, deputies assigned to the Narcotics Bureau, assisted by members of the SWAT team, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of Oak Street at approximately 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, 2026. The warrant stemmed from an ongoing investigation into the alleged distribution of illegal narcotics.
Investigators said they recovered a quantity of crack cocaine and a large amount of fentanyl during the search. Authorities did not immediately release the total amount of crack cocaine seized but alleged the fentanyl weighed at least 14 grams but less than 28 grams, resulting in a trafficking charge.
The sheriff’s office identified the suspect as Jaron Trent McFadden, 37, of Johnsonville. McFadden was arrested at the scene and transported to the Florence County Detention Center, where he remains in custody awaiting a bond hearing.
According to deputies, McFadden has been charged with trafficking fentanyl, manufacture and distribution of cocaine base (third or subsequent offense), possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of less than one gram of methamphetamine or cocaine base (third or subsequent offense), possession of controlled substances, and additional narcotics-related offenses.
Authorities have not released additional details about the investigation or whether more arrests are expected.
The charges are allegations, and McFadden is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
