Plano, IL – A man is dead following a home invasion in the 3800 block of Pratt Street late Friday night. The Plano Police Department responded to the scene where the victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds. Lifesaving efforts were attempted but unsuccessful, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the Plano Police Department, officers identified a vehicle believed to be linked to the incident. The pursuit ended in Aurora near Route 34 and Eola Road. Officers reportedly encountered an armed suspect who posed an immediate lethal threat.
Police engaged and shot the suspect. No officers were injured during the confrontation. The Illinois State Police are now investigating the officer-involved shooting, standard procedure in such cases.
