California rain is falling steadily across Eureka this morning, and wet pavement is already pooling along Highway 101. Showers continue through the late morning hours, with brief thunderstorms possible before 1 p.m. Visibility may dip at times as bursts of heavier rain move inland from the Pacific.

According to the National Weather Service in Eureka, rain chances sit near 80 percent today, with new rainfall totals generally under a tenth of an inch, except in isolated thunderstorms. Scattered showers redevelop this afternoon and taper in coverage by evening. Temperatures reach near 64 degrees, keeping the air cool and damp.

Showers remain likely again Sunday, especially before 10 a.m., with patchy fog forming during breaks in rainfall. As March begins tomorrow, clouds linger and another round of light rain is possible late Sunday night into early Monday. Drivers should allow extra time on U.S. 101 and local coastal routes, where slick spots and reduced visibility can develop quickly.

While record warmth builds across the desert Southwest, Northern California stays locked in a cooler, unsettled pattern. Highs hover in the upper 50s through Monday before midweek steadier rain returns Tuesday and Wednesday. Rain looks likely Tuesday night, with damp commutes expected.

No flooding concerns are posted now, but meteorologists continue monitoring embedded thunderstorms that could briefly intensify rainfall rates.

The broader 6–10 day outlook hints at gradual moderation and slightly above-normal temperatures returning late next week, signaling early spring vibes after this stretch of gray skies.

Five Day Outlook for Eureka, California:
Sunday: Showers, high near 58.
Monday: Chance of rain early, high near 58.
Tuesday: Slight chance rain late, high near 57.
Wednesday: Rain likely, high near 56.
Thursday: Mostly sunny, high near 56.
