Boston, Massachusetts – Travelers and anyone with outdoor plans across Massachusetts will need to contend with another damp day Thursday before a noticeable improvement arrives heading into the weekend. Off-and-on rain and gray skies will keep conditions unsettled through much of the day, but brighter weather is expected to return beginning Friday with even better conditions on Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service in Boston, Thursday will feature periods of rain with afternoon highs ranging from 71 to 75 degrees. While widespread severe weather is not expected, wet roads and reduced visibility could slow the morning and evening commutes across eastern and central Massachusetts, including Boston, Worcester, Providence, and surrounding communities.
Conditions improve Friday as highs climb into the 75 to 83 degree range. Most locations will stay dry, although an isolated shower remains possible. Increasing sunshine will make for a much more comfortable day for outdoor activities, travel, and construction projects after Thursday’s rainfall.
By Saturday, dry weather takes hold statewide with a mix of sun and clouds and warmer temperatures reaching 78 to 85 degrees. Beaches, parks, and recreation areas should see favorable conditions as humidity remains manageable.
Motorists should allow extra travel time Thursday due to wet pavement, while anyone spending time outdoors this weekend should stay hydrated and use sun protection as temperatures rebound.
