Dust Storm Warning Issued for Southwestern New Mexico

Deming, NM – A dust storm warning is in effect for parts of southwestern New Mexico, impacting Luna, Grant, and Hidalgo counties. Strong winds up to 55 mph are creating near-zero visibility, making travel hazardous along Interstate 10 and surrounding highways.

According to the National Weather Service in El Paso, the warning remains in place until 12:15 p.m. MST Thursday. Affected areas include Deming, Columbus, Lordsburg, and surrounding communities. Authorities urge motorists to delay travel or pull off the road if caught in a dust storm.
