Dodge City, KS – After experiencing several days of cooler-than-average temperatures, Dodge City is set to see a return to more typical August heat this week. Temperatures will begin climbing on Tuesday, with highs reaching into the low to mid-90s across much of the region, according to the National Weather Service in Dodge City.
Tuesday’s forecast predicts highs around 93°F for Dodge City, accompanied by high humidity, which will push heat indices near 100°F in some areas, especially closer to the Oklahoma border. The hottest temperatures are expected in areas such as Ashland and Medicine Lodge, where highs may reach 95°F to 98°F.
The warm trend is expected to continue throughout the week. Wednesday and Thursday will see highs of 93°F and 90°F, respectively, under mostly sunny skies. Although slightly cooler temperatures in the upper 80s are expected on Friday and Saturday, the heat will return by Sunday with highs again reaching the low 90s.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated and take precautions against heat-related illnesses, particularly during peak afternoon hours. Despite the rising temperatures, no severe weather is expected, providing a welcome break from recent rain.
