Crescent City Woman Faces DUI Charges After Serious Crash on Route 47

Grundy County, IL – A two-vehicle crash involving a DUI arrest occurred on Route 47 Tuesday afternoon. The collision took place around 3:02 p.m., just north of Route 113.

Tanya Kleinert, 49, of Crescent City, was driving a 2022 Hyundai Kona northbound when she crossed the centerline and struck a flatbed trailer pulled by a Ford F-550, driven by Rick Eickmann, 51, of Beecher. Eickmann attempted to avoid the collision by pulling off to the shoulder, but Kleinert’s vehicle collided with the trailer.

According to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, the Morris Fire Protection and Ambulance District extricated Kleinert from her vehicle. She was airlifted to Loyola Medical Center after being transported to Morris Hospital.

Kleinert was cited for failure to reduce speed and improper lane usage. She also faces DUI charges for driving under the influence of drugs.

Route 47 was closed for two hours for debris removal and investigation, with traffic control provided by the Grundy County Emergency Management Agency.
