Indiana State Police Arrest Muncie Man for DUI on I-69 After Citizen Tip

Pendleton, IN – A 21-year-old Muncie man was arrested for impaired driving Monday morning on Interstate 69 after a concerned citizen reported his erratic driving.

The Indiana State Police received the tip at around 8:40 a.m. Trooper Andy Sparks located the vehicle near the 220-mile marker and initiated a traffic stop. The driver appeared impaired, and Trooper Sparks observed signs of intoxication, consistent with the earlier complaint.

According to the Indiana State Police, the man was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and transported to Madison County Jail. The suspect’s identity has not yet been released.

Authorities credit the arrest to a vigilant citizen who reported the dangerous driving. Police encourage the public to continue reporting impaired driving by calling 911.
