Warrenville, IL – A DuPage County judge has denied pre-trial release for Steven Kramer, 39, accused of murdering his wife, Jaime Neumann, 47. Kramer faces two counts of first-degree murder following a fatal shooting at their home on Mulberry Court.
On September 5, Warrenville police responded to a 911 call for a cardiac arrest, but officers found Neumann dead with multiple gunshot wounds. Kramer allegedly admitted to a verbal altercation with Neumann before fatally shooting her. According to authorities, she was shot six times, including once in the head.
Kramer voluntarily went to the police station after the incident and was taken into custody. The investigation involved multiple agencies, including the DuPage County MERIT and the county’s Coroner’s Office. Authorities commended their efforts in securing charges against Kramer.
Kramer’s next court appearance is scheduled for October 7 for arraignment. He remains presumed innocent, pending the outcome of his trial.
